Treating Inflamed Fungal Nappy Rash
For inflamed fungal nappy rash, your doctor or pharmacist may advise the use of a combined anti-inflammatory and anti-fungal cream with a follow-on anti-fungal treatment.
These are available with consultation from a pharmacist or doctor.
Dual Action Treatment
- Canesten Plus Clotrimazole & Hydrocortisone Cream 30g
(As well as Clotrimazole 20g or 50g as a follow-on treatment)
For inflamed nappy rash use a combined approach of an anti-inflammatory and anti-fungal cream. Apply twice a day for no more than 7 days, followed by an anti-fungal only cream for 14 days.
For general nappy rash:
Use a breathable barrier cream such as Bepanthen Ointment to help soothe and prevent nappy rash. Bepanthen can be purchased in most pharmacies and supermarkets.
